Alpha Futures rules & hidden risks
The fine print that costs traders accounts
Hidden Risk score
7.2/10
Very high risk
Average: 4.6
The written plan rules are clear and mostly shown in the dashboard. The risk sits in what is judged after the fact: trade-duration 'tick scalping', hedging and group-trading reviews happen at payout time, and reviewers since August 2026 describe approved payouts flagged weeks later and accounts closed over copier glitches, shared devices or purchase timing. In July 2026 the firm also showed it can void pending payouts when it closes a product. 48% of the 1-2 star reviews we classified describe a rule dispute and 45.6% a denied payout.
Hidden rules to know before you buy
- highpayout
Product closure voided pending payouts
When the Premium plan closed on 12 July 2026 the firm first said pending Premium payouts beyond those already paid would not be honored, then reversed and paid in 10% batches; reviewers still reported unpaid Premium payouts and refunds in October 2026.
Source - highstrategy
Tick scalping judged at payout review
A pattern of trades under 10 ticks and under 2 minutes is prohibited, but there is no hard holding time; reviewers say payouts were denied and profits removed for trades under 2 minutes that made far more than 10 ticks.
Source - highpayout
Approved payouts can still be flagged
Payout eligibility checks and account reviews continue after a request shows 'approved for pay'; in August 2026 many reviewers saw approved requests switched to 'flagged' and then denied.
Source - highaccount
Hedging and group-trading checks catch copier errors
Opposite positions across your own accounts count as hedging even when the firm's own trade copier causes them, and matching trades with an unknown trader or buying accounts close in time to someone else have been treated as group trading.
Source - mediumaccount
One person per household, one device
Only one individual per household may use the service; reviewers report accounts terminated because a laptop or device had been used by a relative, sometimes months earlier.
Source - mediumconsistency
Consistency rule on most Qualified accounts
Zero and Standard Qualified accounts need every day under 40% of profit since the last request, Direct under 20%; the rule is shown in the dashboard and blocks the payout button rather than breaching, and reviewers say it resets even after a denied request.
Source - mediumnews
News window voids trade profits
On Zero, Standard and Direct Qualified accounts no order may execute within 2 minutes of a red-folder ForexFactory event; profit on that trade is voided and the payout denied, and repeat violations breach the account. A reviewer says a resting take-profit filling inside the window cost a Qualified account.
Source - mediumpayout
Small payout caps and 50% per request
Each request may take at most half the account profit and is capped at $1,000-$5,000 on Zero, Standard and Direct, so a strong month can take several cycles of 5 winning days to withdraw.
Source - mediumaccount
Called to live closes every Qualified account
Traders selected for live trading (for example after 5 payouts on one account) have all Qualified accounts closed; the Prime route pays 50% of sim profit (max $75,000) as a 12-month salary, and the help center says declining means losing all relations with the Alpha Group.
Source - mediumdiscretion
Sole-discretion and 'same level of risk' clauses
The terms let Alpha refuse a performance fee where it decides in its sole discretion that a rule was broken, disallow any practice at its discretion, and terminate a Qualified account that does not keep the same risk level as in the evaluation.
Source - lowother
Non-disparagement and legal-cost clauses
Users agree never to publicly disparage Alpha, which can terminate access for a breach, and to pay Alpha's legal costs in any dispute regardless of the outcome.
Source - lowother
Daily flat rule, price-limit rule and inactivity
All trades must be closed by 4:20 PM ET, no trading within 2% of a CME price limit on any account, and at least one trade every 10 trading days.
Source - lowcosts
Simulated fees count against the loss limits
Simulated commissions and exchange fees (about $4.78 per ES/NQ round trip, $1.32 per micro) are included in the daily loss and drawdown calculations.

The rulebook
Drawdown3 rules
- End-of-day trailing Maximum Loss Limit on every plan, based on the highest end-of-day balance and locking at the starting balance; touching it intraday on floating equity still liquidates the account.
- Zero and Direct have a soft Daily Loss Guard of 2% that flattens and locks the account until 6 PM ET; Standard has one only on Qualified accounts, Advanced has none.
- The loss limit does not slide to zero after a withdrawal: it stays where it was before the payout.
Consistency2 rules
- Evaluations: Zero none, Standard 50% best-day rule, Advanced 40%.
- Qualified: Zero and Standard 40%, Direct 20%, Advanced none; measured on profit since the last withdrawal request and it blocks payouts rather than breaching the account.
News & timing4 rules
- No news restriction in evaluations or on Advanced Qualified accounts.
- Zero, Standard and Direct Qualified: no orders within 2 minutes before or after red-folder ForexFactory events for the traded asset; first violation is a warning with that trade's profit voided.
- All positions must be closed by 4:20 PM ET; trading day runs 6 PM to 5 PM ET.
- No trading within 2% of a CME daily price limit.
Prohibited strategies4 rules
- No AI, bots or fully automated trading, and no strategies taking more than 100 trades a day.
- No tick or micro scalping (a pattern of trades under 10 ticks and under 2 minutes), order-book spamming, stacked limit orders at one price or exploiting simulated fills.
- No hedging across accounts or between a mini and its micro, no group trading, no account rolling or stockpiling passed accounts.
- VPS allowed, VPN not.
Gambling & risk3 rules
- 'All or nothing' trades at maximum size using the daily loss guard as a stop are prohibited.
- Qualified traders must keep roughly the same risk level as in the evaluation.
- Crypto micros (MBT, MET) count as full mini contracts toward position limits.
Account & KYC4 rules
- KYC via Veriff with government ID and selfie, no VPN or VPS during verification; failing KYC gets a refund of the passed evaluation.
- Up to 5 Qualified accounts (3 for Advanced); one username per person and one person per household.
- The Qualified contract must be signed within 30 days of passing.
- Place at least one trade every 10 trading days.
