TradeDay is a Chicago futures prop firm run since 2020 by two industry veterans, and it is one of the few that publishes a pass rate: 36% of evaluations passed between January and June 2026. Quick Pay lets you withdraw from the first funded day with no buffer and no daily loss limit, and the route ends in a real exchange account at a 90/10 split. The price for that is in the payout fine print: half of your first $4,000 per account stays with the firm, the Funded Sim is cut off at $10,000 gross profit, and a 2024 habit of declining to fund traders who left 1-star reviews still colors its reputation.
A long-running futures firm with real day-one payouts, if you accept 50/50 early splits and a $10,000 ceiling
Our verdict
TradeDay is one of the more credible futures prop firms: founded in 2020 by two industry veterans, based in Chicago, paying out daily since 2021, and willing to publish a 36% evaluation pass rate. The Quick Pay model does what the marketing says on the surface, with withdrawals from the first funded day, no buffer and no daily loss limit, and the Trustpilot record shows few payout denials and no late payouts.
The catch is how little of the early money you keep. Quick Pay splits 50/50 until an account holds $4,000 of profit, the trailing drawdown keeps climbing even after you withdraw, and the Funded Sim is cut off at $10,000 gross profit with the excess forfeited before a review for Funded Live. Fast Pass trades a quicker evaluation for a 45% funded consistency rule and small payout caps. Add a recurring monthly fee, an intraday funded drawdown for EOD buyers, $156 a month in data once live, and terms that give the firm wide discretion.
For a disciplined intraday futures trader who wants a path to a real exchange account and can live with the payout structure, TradeDay is a sound choice at its discounted prices. Swing traders, news traders and anyone who wants to compound one large funded account should look elsewhere.
Best for
Disciplined intraday futures traders who want day-one payouts and a defined route to a live CME account
Avoid if
You hold positions overnight past the close, trade news, rely on sub-10-second scalps or want to keep most of your first $4,000
Pros
- Publishes its evaluation pass rate: 36% between January and June 2026, versus the 10-20% most firms quote privately.
- Quick Pay pays from the first funded day with no buffer, a $250 minimum and processing within 24 hours.
- No daily loss limit and no activation fee on any plan.
- A defined route to a real exchange-cleared Funded Live account at a 90/10 split, which most futures firms do not offer.
- Low list prices: $131 a month for a 50k Quick Pay and $100 for a 25k, often discounted further.
- Six years of payouts with denials in only 11% of 108 negative Trustpilot reviews and no late-payout complaints.
- Broad platform choice: Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView and, since August 2026, Rithmic front-ends such as Quantower, Sierra Chart and ATAS.
Cons
- Quick Pay pays only 50% of profits while an account holds under $4,000 current profit, then 80%.
- Each Quick Pay Funded Sim is paused at $10,000 gross profit and anything above it is forfeited.
- Quick Pay funded accounts always trail intraday, even if you bought the EOD evaluation, and payouts do not lower the drawdown line.
- Monthly subscription that keeps billing until you pass; cancelling or a failed payment closes the evaluation immediately.
- Fast Pass funded accounts need 5 profitable days, a 45% consistency ratio and cap payouts at $750-$2,250 per request.
- Funded Live costs $156 per exchange per month in professional market data.
- About 80 countries are excluded, including Nigeria, the Philippines, South Africa, Turkey and Vietnam.

TradeDay's homepage disclaimer states the evaluation pass rate was 36% between January and June 2026; an older help-center disclaimer gave 23.7% for August 2023, measured as users who passed versus users who entered. The figure is self-reported and unaudited, covers the evaluation only, and the firm publishes no share of funded traders who reach a payout or Funded Live.

Who is TradeDay for?
Fit by trading style
Beginners
OK with caveatsCheap 25k entry, free education and a 36% pass rate help, but $1,000-$2,000 trailing drawdowns and a recurring monthly fee punish slow learning.
Experienced traders
Good fitNo daily loss limit, day-one Quick Pay payouts and a defined move to a live CME account at 90/10 reward disciplined intraday traders.
Swing traders
Poor fitEvery position must be closed 10 minutes before the daily close, so multi-day holds are impossible.
Scalpers
OK with caveatsNormal scalping is allowed, but holds under about 10 seconds, split orders and more than 200 trades a day are banned and reviewed at payout.
EA & algo traders
OK with caveatsYour own systems can run on NinjaTrader, Tradovate or Quantower, but there is no API access and purchased bots are banned.
News traders
Poor fitPositions are force-closed 2 minutes before FOMC, CPI, NFP and product-specific reports.
About TradeDay
Founded 2020 · Chicago, United States
TradeDay LLC is an Illinois limited liability company based at 412 S. Wells Street in Chicago, with a presence in the UK. It was founded in 2020 by CEO James Thorpe, a former CEO of Mercury Derivatives/Futures First, Clear Capital Group and Lakeside Trading, and COO Steve Miley, founder of the Market Chartist research group and a former head of technical analysis at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse. The firm took its first funded traders in 2021 and says it had paid out more than $10 million by December 2025.
TradeDay sells monthly evaluation subscriptions on CME Group futures through Tradovate and NinjaTrader on the CQG feed and, since August 2026, Rithmic. It also runs a $24-a-month CoPilot membership with courses, daily meetings, LiveSquawk commentary and paid mentoring. Passing traders move to a simulated Funded Sim account and then to a Funded Live sub-account at its broker, trading real money at a 90/10 split. Payouts run through Riseworks. The firm is not registered with the SEC or CFTC and does not name the clearing firm behind Funded Live.
The product changed sharply in 2026. TradeDay 2.0 launched on May 29, 2026 with Quick Pay and Fast Pass, dropped activation fees and milestones, and cut entry prices. Later updates added Rithmic in August, a 25k account and up to 10 accounts in September, and a funded consistency rule and lower payout caps on Fast Pass for accounts opened from July 26, 2026.
Trader tip
If you buy Quick Pay, plan for the intraday funded drawdown even if your evaluation was EOD, and track gross profit yourself so you stop at $10,000 instead of handing the excess back. Keep each account above $4,000 profit before withdrawing if you want the 80/20 split rather than 50/50.

TradeDay FAQ
Questions traders ask
Is TradeDay legit?
Yes. TradeDay LLC is a Chicago company founded in 2020 by named futures industry veterans, has paid traders since 2021 and claims over $10 million in payouts. It holds a 4.6 Trustpilot score from 1,443 reviews, though it rewards reviews with shop points and its terms give it wide discretion over accounts.
Does TradeDay actually pay out?
Yes. Payout denials appear in about 11% of its negative Trustpilot reviews and we found no complaints about late payments, while about a quarter of recent positive reviews describe a payout received. Denials the firm explained were tied to linked accounts, VPN use, restricted countries or prohibited practices.
How long do TradeDay payouts take?
Requests made before 5:30 pm CT are processed within 24 hours on business days, and reviewers often report approval within hours. Money is paid through Riseworks by bank wire or USDC, with a $250 minimum.
What is the TradeDay pass rate?
TradeDay states that 36% of evaluations were passed between January and June 2026, up from 23.7% it reported for August 2023. The figure is self-reported and covers the evaluation only, not how many funded traders get paid or reach Funded Live.
What are TradeDay's hidden rules?
The ones that catch traders are funded-stage rules: Quick Pay funded accounts always trail intraday, payouts do not lower the drawdown line, and profit above $10,000 gross in a Funded Sim is forfeited. Microscalping under about 10 seconds, trading within 2% of a price limit and VPN use can also cost an account.
Can you trade news with TradeDay?
No, not the major releases. TradeDay auto-closes positions 2 minutes before and reopens 2 minutes after FOMC, CPI and NFP for all products, EIA inventories for energy and crop reports for grains. Other news is fine.
Are EAs and bots allowed at TradeDay?
Only your own automated systems, run through supported platforms such as NinjaTrader, Tradovate or Quantower. TradeDay gives no API access, bans bots bought from third parties and bans strategies that place more than 200 trades a day.
Does TradeDay accept US traders?
Yes. TradeDay is a US company and most of its customers are American; US single-member LLCs can also be paid. About 80 other countries are excluded, and German citizens and Canadians outside Ontario are limited to Funded Sim.
Is there a TradeDay discount code?
TradeDay runs frequent site-wide sales announced with a code on its homepage, usually between 50% and 60% off the monthly price. Check the banner on tradeday.com for the current code before buying, since the offers change every few weeks.
Who owns TradeDay?
TradeDay is owned and run by its co-founders, CEO James Thorpe and COO Steve Miley, through TradeDay LLC in Chicago. Thorpe previously ran Mercury Derivatives/Futures First, and Miley headed technical analysis at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse.
What happens if I breach a TradeDay account?
A failed evaluation can be reset for $45 to $250 or reset free at your next monthly renewal if the account is no longer under evaluation. A lost funded account cannot be reset; TradeDay reviews your history before letting you buy again, and losing a Funded Live account means a three-month cooling-off period.
TradeDay Quick Pay vs Fast Pass: which is easier?
Fast Pass is quicker to pass with 3 minimum days, but its funded account needs 5 profitable days, a 45% consistency ratio and caps each payout at $750 to $2,250. Quick Pay takes 5 days with a 30% consistency rule, then pays from day one with no funded consistency rule, at 50% until the account holds $4,000 profit.
Is TradeDay a one-time fee or a subscription?
It is a subscription. The evaluation price recurs every 30 days until you pass or cancel, and cancelling or a failed payment closes the evaluation at once. Billing stops when you pass, and there is no activation fee.
