Take Profit Trader sells one futures test and one big promise: once you are in a PRO account, you can withdraw profit on day one and every day after, with no cap. That promise holds up; recent reviewers report payouts landing within hours, and the firm publishes its own pass rate (36.22% of tests passed in 2025). The catch is what happens after the test: the drawdown switches from end-of-day to intraday, profit inside a buffer is locked, and since mid-2026 a set of discretionary risk policies decides who gets live capital and who gets pushed into a restricted account.
The best payout policy in futures, wrapped in funded-stage rules you must read twice
Our verdict
Take Profit Trader earns its following with the payout policy. Once you clear the buffer in PRO you can take money out every day, with no cap, no payout window and no funded consistency rule, and the account-to-wallet step now takes seconds on Tradovate accounts. The test itself is fair: a 6% target, no daily loss limit, an end-of-day drawdown and a 3-day minimum, and the firm is one of the few to publish a pass rate, 36.22% of tests in 2025.
The trouble starts when you get funded. The drawdown starts trailing intraday on open profit, the first block of profit is locked as a buffer, the news blackout kicks in, and a momentary opposite position across your own accounts ends all of them. Since mid-2026 the firm has also added a Sustainable Trading Policy and PRO+ Development accounts, which let it restrict or drop traders it sees as too aggressive without naming a broken rule. Those changes, plus slow support during the PRO+ rollout, drove a spike in one-star reviews in June and July 2026.
For a single-account, moderately sized intraday trader who wants frequent access to profit, few firms beat it. If you run copiers across several accounts, trade max size at the open, travel, or rely on fast human support, budget for friction and read the funded-account rules before you buy.
Best for
Disciplined intraday futures traders on one or a few manually traded accounts who want daily, uncapped payouts
Avoid if
You hold overnight, run bots or cross-account copiers, size up hard at the open, or cannot live with an intraday trailing drawdown
Pros
- Withdraw from day one of PRO, daily, with no payout cap, no payout window and no minimum profitable days
- Account-to-wallet withdrawals automated to about 5 seconds for Tradovate PRO accounts since July 2026
- No daily loss limit on the test or PRO, and no consistency rule once funded
- Pass in as few as 3 trading days with a 6% profit target and no time limit
- Publishes its own pass rate: 36.22% of Trading Tests passed in 2025
- More than 15 platforms across CQG and Rithmic, including NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView and Quantower
- Up to three PRO resets let you skip the test after blowing a funded account
Cons
- Drawdown turns intraday in PRO, trailing unrealized peaks, after an end-of-day test
- Profit inside the buffer (e.g. the first $2,000 on a $50K) is locked, and paid at 50% if you close within 60 trading days
- Monthly rebilling ($170 for $50K) plus a $130 activation fee; tests do not cancel on a breach
- Drawdown is tight on bigger accounts: $3,000 on $100K and $4,500 on $150K (3%)
- Live PRO+ is invitation-only, freezes $5,000 of PRO profit and can turn into a restricted PRO+ Development account
- Any counter position across your own accounts, even for seconds, closes every account involved
- Support complaints in about 61% of recent negative reviews, mostly about a chatbot gatekeeper and slow tickets

The site disclaimer states that 36.22% of all Trading Tests were passed between January 1 and December 31, 2025, with those traders reaching a PRO account. It counts tests, not traders, and resets likely count as new attempts. An older FAQ figure, 20.37% of registered users passing a test from January to August 2023, uses a different base. No share of PRO traders reaching a first payout is published.

Who is Take Profit Trader for?
Fit by trading style
Beginners
OK with caveatsThe one-step test with no daily loss limit and a 6% target is easy to understand, but the intraday drawdown in PRO and monthly rebilling punish learning by trial and error.
Experienced traders
Good fitDisciplined intraday traders get daily, uncapped withdrawals and a path to a live 90% split if they size moderately.
Swing traders
Poor fitEvery position must be flat by 5 PM ET, so nothing can be held overnight or over the weekend.
Scalpers
OK with caveatsScalping is allowed and commissions are fixed, but max-size trades at the open and sim-fill edges can trigger a discretionary review.
EA & algo traders
Poor fitBots and algos are banned on every account; only approved trade copiers across your own accounts are allowed.
News traders
OK with caveatsNews is free during the test, but funded accounts must be flat around FOMC, NFP and CPI releases.
About Take Profit Trader
Founded 2021 · Windermere, Florida, United States
Take Profit Trader is run by TakeProfitTrader LLC, a Florida limited liability company filed on March 29, 2021 and based at 9100 Conroy Windermere Road in Windermere, near Orlando. State records list two Oslo Six entities as manager and member. Founder and CEO James Sixsmith is a former minor-league hockey player who says he lost close to $150,000 learning to trade and previously ran Trade Context, an education and third-party funding business.
The firm is futures-only. Traders buy a monthly Trading Test, move to a simulated PRO account with an 80% split and daily withdrawals, and can be invited to PRO+, a live account routed to CME through Tradovate with a 90% split. Market data and simulation run on CQG (via Tradovate) or Rithmic. Payouts come from test and tech fees plus shared PRO+ profits, the firm says. It holds BBB accreditation since February 2025 and does not publish a total-paid figure on its site.
In 2026 it automated account-to-wallet withdrawals (July), cut the test minimum from 5 to 3 days (August), and added a Sustainable Trading Policy, PRO+ Development accounts and a 30-day live-capital cooldown that give it more control over who trades its live money.
Trader tip
Treat the PRO account as an intraday-drawdown account from the first trade: take profits rather than letting open gains run back, because the floor follows the peak. If you run several accounts, use one approved copier, never trade a related micro against a mini, and request your first withdrawal as soon as you clear the buffer.

Take Profit Trader FAQ
Questions traders ask
Is Take Profit Trader legit?
Yes. It is run by TakeProfitTrader LLC, a Florida company registered in 2021 under named CEO James Sixsmith, holds BBB accreditation and has more than 10,800 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.4. Funded PRO accounts are simulated; only invited PRO+ traders trade live through Tradovate.
Does Take Profit Trader actually pay out?
Yes. Recent reviews include dozens of payout confirmations and only isolated payout complaints. The disputes that do appear involve profit inside the buffer, withdrawals declined during a move to PRO+, or profits forfeited after a counter-position or risk finding.
How long do Take Profit Trader payouts take?
On Tradovate PRO accounts the account-to-wallet step is automated and takes seconds once the dashboard updates around 8-9 PM ET. The wallet payout then goes through a compliance review of up to 12 business hours, after which US bank transfers via Plaid are usually instant and PayPal or Wise arrive within 12 business hours. Rithmic and PRO+ withdrawals are still reviewed manually.
What is the Take Profit Trader pass rate?
The firm says 36.22% of all Trading Tests were passed in 2025, which is high for the industry. The figure counts tests rather than traders and says nothing about how many PRO traders reach a payout.
What are Take Profit Trader's hidden rules?
The ones that catch people are the intraday trailing drawdown in PRO, the locked buffer, the news blackout around FOMC, NFP and CPI on funded accounts, the weekly trading requirement and the zero-tolerance counter-position rule. Since 2026 a Sustainable Trading Policy also lets the firm restrict or drop traders it considers too aggressive.
Does Take Profit Trader have a daily loss limit?
No. Tests, PRO and standard PRO+ accounts only have a trailing drawdown. Only the restricted PRO+ Development accounts carry a soft daily loss limit that pauses trading for the rest of the day.
Can you trade news with Take Profit Trader?
During the test, yes, with no restriction. In PRO and PRO+ you must be flat from one minute before to one minute after FOMC statements, NFP and CPI, and breaking that window can cost the account.
Are bots or EAs allowed at Take Profit Trader?
No. Automated trading, bots and algos are banned on every account type. You may use approved trade copiers, but only across accounts you own.
Does Take Profit Trader accept US traders?
Yes, it is a US company and US traders get instant payouts through Plaid. It blocks about 120 other countries, including several EU members such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Malta, Romania and Slovenia.
Is there a Take Profit Trader discount code?
The firm's own site-wide code is NOFEE40, which takes 40% off the monthly test fee for the life of that test and waives the $130 activation fee. Shorter flash sales with bigger discounts appear a few times a year.
How much does Take Profit Trader cost?
Tests are monthly subscriptions: $150 for $25K, $170 for $50K, $245 for $75K, $330 for $100K and $360 for $150K at list price. You pay a one-time $130 activation fee after passing, and the subscription keeps billing until you pass or cancel.
Who owns Take Profit Trader?
TakeProfitTrader LLC of Windermere, Florida, founded and led by CEO James Sixsmith. Florida records list Oslo Six Management Services Corporation as manager and Oslo Six Investment Services LLLP as member.
What happens if I breach a Take Profit Trader account?
A failed test can be reset for $79-$199, or kept active and reset free at the next monthly renewal. A blown PRO account can be reset up to three times for $449-$1,499, and any profit left in the buffer is paid at 50% or 80% depending on how long the account traded.
What is the difference between PRO and PRO+ at Take Profit Trader?
PRO is a simulated funded account with an 80% split, an intraday drawdown and a withdrawal buffer. PRO+ is a live Tradovate account offered by invitation, with a 90% split, an end-of-day drawdown and no buffer, but the move freezes $5,000 of PRO profit while PRO+ is active.
