Hidden Risk score
6.3/10
Very high risk
Average: 6.3
Most accounts here are lost or trimmed by funded-stage rules rather than by drawdown: winners closed inside five minutes lose their profit, ESS and consistency scores delay payouts, EquityShield force-closes positions and anything above $25,000 in 30 days is deducted. Add sole-discretion risk clauses, possible video interviews before payment, a ban on negative reviews and an offshore contracting entity, and the rulebook gives the firm wide room to refuse money.
- highstrategy
5-minute minimum hold on winners
Any profitable trade closed in under five minutes, including by take-profit, counts as tick scalping; on funded accounts the profit is deducted at payout review and repeat cases can end the account.
Source - highpayout
$25,000 per 30-day payout ceiling
Net profits plus withdrawals across all of a trader's accounts are capped at $25,000 per rolling 30 days and profit above the cap is deducted; 2-Step PRO also caps each payout at 6% of the account or $15,000.
Source - highconsistency
Equity Stability Score counts your worst day
NOVA and Prime payouts need an ESS of 20% or less, calculated as best day plus worst losing day divided by total profit, so a $500 best day and a $400 worst day require $4,500 of total profit before any withdrawal.
Source - highstrategy
Copy-trading flags on your own accounts
The same trade on two of your funded accounts within 30 minutes is treated as copy trading; reviewers report both accounts reset and profits removed, and instant accounts ban copying from any source.
Source - highdiscretion
Ban on negative reviews
The terms prohibit disparaging reviews on Trustpilot, Reddit, X and similar sites; a breach can mean termination, forfeited profits and legal action, and the clause survives for two years.
Source - highdiscretion
Sole-discretion risk clauses and video interviews
The firm can act on trading it considers outside 'acceptable risk practices', on a strategy that differs between challenge and funded stage, or on positions much larger than usual; it may also require a video interview before paying, and skipping it voids the payout.
Source - mediumdrawdown
EquityShield auto-closes and soft-breach limits
Trades are force-closed when floating loss hits 2% of starting balance on one symbol or 2.5% overall; each trigger is a soft breach and the account fails after 8 (PRO), 5 (Prime, Magnum) or 10 (Instant). The risk team can tighten the levels.
Source - mediumpayout
Daily profit caps void excess gains
Funded FLASH accounts stop trading at +3% in a day and any profit above it is voided; 2-Step PRO caps daily profit at $3,000 ($4,000 on $300K).
Source - mediumdrawdown
Drawdown locks at starting balance on payout
Requesting a payout locks the trailing limit at the initial balance on FLASH, NOVA, Instant and Prime, so withdrawing most of your profit leaves almost no room for the next losing trade.
Source - mediumlot-size
Funded stage is stricter than the evaluation
Once funded, EAs and API tools are banned, FX leverage drops (NOVA 1:100 to 1:30, PRO 1:100 to 1:50), trading stops 5 minutes either side of high-impact news and open lots are capped at 1 per $5,000, maximum 20 even on $500K.
Source - mediumcosts
NOVA activation fee after passing
The $7 NOVA headline excludes a non-refundable activation fee of $165 to $1,210 (list) due within 30 days of passing, and the funded account then carries a 20% ESS.
Source - mediumaccount
Offshore entity and simulated accounts
Card charges go to Top One Trader, LLC, but the site names Top One Trader Ltd in Anjouan, Comoros, holding an Anjouan brokerage licence, and funded accounts are simulated under a separate Top One Funding agreement.
Source - lowcosts
Costs that add up
Commission of $5 per lot round turn, a 2% processing fee on every payout via Rise, and add-ons such as weekend holding, no stop loss or a higher split priced at 10% to 35% of the fee.
Source - lowaccount
Weekend auto-close, VPN ban and inactivity
Instant Funding, Prime and Magnum positions are closed at 4:30 pm ET on Friday without the add-on (a soft breach), VPN use can trigger a breach, and an account with no trade for 30 days from purchase is hard-breached.

Grouped from the terms, FAQ and help center
Drawdown
- 1-Step FLASH: 4% daily loss and a 7% trailing drawdown that locks at the starting balance after a 7% gain or a payout request.

- NOVA: no daily limit and 6% trailing in the evaluation; 3% daily and 5% trailing once funded.

- Daily limits reset at 5 pm ET from the higher of balance or equity and include floating losses, commissions and swaps.
- EquityShield force-closes trades at 2% floating loss on one symbol or 2.5% across all positions (soft breach).
Prohibited strategies
- Profitable trades must stay open at least 5 minutes; faster winners are treated as tick scalping.
- HFT, latency or arbitrage trading, grid and martingale strategies are banned.
- Copying another person's trades, signal groups and pass-your-challenge services are banned; copying between your own accounts is limited to evaluations (manual copying allowed on NOVA).
- Hedging across accounts or with other firms is banned; hedging inside one account is allowed.
- Commercial or hidden EAs are banned; your own EA is allowed only during evaluations.
- Repeatedly buying, breaching and resetting accounts ('churning') can lead to payout denial or a ban.
News & timing
- Evaluations: news trading is unrestricted.
- Funded and instant accounts: no opening, closing or modifying trades 5 minutes before and after high-impact news; stop or target fills in that window count unless the trade was opened at least 5 hours earlier.
- Every red-folder US release (FOMC, NFP, CPI) applies to all instruments; FXStreet's calendar is the reference.
- Instant Funding, Prime and Magnum positions are closed Friday 4:30 pm ET unless the weekend add-on was bought.
- Place at least one trade every 30 days, counted from purchase, or the account is hard-breached.
Gambling & risk
- Funded lot cap of 1 lot per $5,000 of balance, maximum 20 lots on any size.
- A stop loss must be set when the trade is opened unless the no-stop-loss add-on was bought (soft breach).
- Positions much larger than your usual size, especially around news, can be treated as gambling and lead to profit deductions.
- Funded FLASH accounts pause at +3% daily profit and void the excess; 2-Step PRO caps daily profit at $3,000-$4,000.
Consistency
- 1-Step FLASH and 2-Step PRO V2: no consistency rule.
- Instant Funding: the best day must be 15% or less of total profit before each payout.
- NOVA and Instant Prime: Equity Stability Score of 20% or less, counting both best and worst day; Magnum: 15% ESS.
- Partial closes are merged into one trade on the final closing date when scores are checked; the dashboard figure is only a guide.
Payouts
- First payout after 14 days (30 on Instant Funding), then every 14 days; weekly with a paid add-on.
- Minimum withdrawal 2% of the account (3% on 2-Step PRO); 2-Step PRO payouts capped at 6% or $15,000 each.
- Maximum $25,000 in profits and withdrawals per rolling 30 days across all accounts; the excess is deducted.
- Paid through Rise (bank or crypto) with a 2% processing fee; a video interview may be required first.
Account & KYC
- KYC through Veriff after passing; the contract appears after a risk review of up to 5 business days.
- Initial allocation capped at $600,000 per person or household; Magnum is limited to one per customer.
- VPNs are banned and IP addresses are monitored; payment cards must belong to the account holder.
- 26 countries are excluded, including Pakistan, Vietnam, Turkey, Ukraine and Morocco; MT5 is not offered to US or Canadian residents.
- Chargebacks lead to a permanent ban; fees are non-refundable except the 2-Step PRO, Prime and Magnum refunds on the 4th payout.

Top One Trader rules FAQ
Questions traders ask
What are Top One Trader's hidden rules?
The big ones are a five-minute minimum hold on profitable trades, a $25,000 cap on profits and withdrawals per 30 days, ESS or consistency scores on instant and NOVA accounts, EquityShield closures at 2% floating loss per symbol and daily profit caps on funded FLASH and PRO accounts. All are in the help center, but most only apply once you are funded.
Can you trade news with Top One Trader?
Only during evaluations. Funded and instant accounts cannot open, close or modify trades five minutes either side of high-impact news, and a stop or target filling in that window also counts unless the trade was opened at least five hours earlier. Instant Prime sells a news add-on.
Are EAs allowed at Top One Trader?
Your own EA is allowed during evaluations only. Funded and instant accounts ban EAs, bots and any external API tool, and commercial EAs are banned everywhere. Top One Futures does not allow automated trading at all.
Does Top One Trader accept US traders?
Yes. US residents can trade on TradeLocker or Match-Trader, but MetaTrader 5 is not offered in the US, Canada, US territories or Puerto Rico. The firm excludes 26 countries, including Pakistan, Vietnam, Turkey and Ukraine.
What happens if I breach a Top One Trader account?
A hard breach (daily or maximum loss, inactivity or a prohibited strategy) closes the account and forfeits its profits. Breached evaluations can be reset at a discount within 14 days and NOVA evaluation resets are free; funded resets cost $95 to $5,592 and are not available after an approved payout.
Top One Trader 1-step vs 2-step: which is easier?
The 2-Step PRO is usually easier: 8% then 5% against a 9% static drawdown with 1:100 FX leverage. The One-Step FLASH needs 10% in one go against a 7% trailing drawdown with only 1:10 FX leverage, though it gets you funded in one phase.
What is the Top One Trader ESS rule?
The Equity Stability Score adds your best day and your worst losing day and divides by total profit; it must be 20% or lower to withdraw on NOVA and Prime accounts (15% on Magnum). A $500 best day and a $400 worst day mean you need $4,500 of total profit before a payout.
Why does Top One Trader have no Trustpilot score?
By September 2026 Trustpilot had stopped showing the firm's TrustScore, citing a breach of its guidelines, and says it removed fake reviews. The last published score was 4.5 on 3,003 reviews in March 2026; the 3,494 reviews still listed average about 4.5, but recent ones are dominated by short five-star posts that name support agents.
