Lucid Trading rules & hidden risks

The fine print that costs traders accounts

Hidden Risk score

5.0/10

Hidden risk 5.0 out of 10, High

High risk

Average: 4.6

The published rules are mostly clear, but the risk sits in enforcement Lucid applies after the fact: accounts paused for repeat KYC at payout and then closed for cross-user coordinated trading, correlated hedging or alleged chargebacks, with no evidence shared. 40.8% of the 250 newest negative reviews dispute a rule and 28.4% report a lost payout, and Lucid answers none of them publicly.

Hidden rules to know before you buy

  1. highdiscretion

    Bans for cross-user coordinated trading

The terms bar trading in concert with other users or unconnected accounts, judged at Lucid's sole discretion. Since August 2026 dozens of traders report bans at payout on this ground, including couples sharing a home network, with no trade evidence shown.

  2. highstrategy

Hedging ban covers correlated products across accounts

Long ES in one account and short NQ in another counts as hedging, as does opposing trades with other users or at other firms. A flag resets the account to the prior day's balance without restoring drawdown; repeats mean breach and a permanent ban.

  3. highkyc

KYC re-check and chargeback sweeps at payout

KYC is only required at payout, and reviewers describe accounts paused for a second ID check right at payout, then closed for identity mismatch or a chargeback found in a Sep 17, 2026 batch sweep. Lucid treats any chargeback as grounds for a permanent ban.

The rulebook

Drawdown4 rules
  • Max loss $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500 (Direct $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,500 / $5,000) trailing end-of-day; it locks at start balance + $100 once the balance passes the initial trail.
  • LucidDaily funded accounts trail intraday, including unrealized profit.
  • Daily loss limit is optional and a soft breach: hitting it pauses trading until the next session.
  • On Pro and Direct funded accounts the daily limit becomes 60% of the highest end-of-day profit once above the trail.
Prohibited strategies5 rules
  • Hedging within or across accounts, with other users or other firms, including correlated products in separate accounts.
  • Microscalping: over 50% of profit from trades held 5 seconds or less triggers a review.
  • High-frequency trading, exploiting sim fills or price delays, trades outside the best bid or offer, slow data feeds.
  • Trading in concert with other users or trading on behalf of others.
  • Bots, trade copiers between your own accounts, scaling in and flipping for trading days are allowed.
News & timing4 rules
  • All sim positions must be closed by 4:45 PM ET; trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET Sunday to Thursday.
  • No overnight or weekend holding on evaluation or sim funded accounts.
  • News trading is allowed on Pro, Flex and Direct.
  • LucidDaily: being in a position from 1 minute before to 1 minute after high-impact USD news is a hard breach.
Consistency4 rules
  • LucidPro funded: largest day at most 40% of the payout cycle's profit (35% on pre-Nov 28, 2025 accounts).
  • LucidDirect: largest day at most 20% of the cycle's profit.
  • LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations: largest day at most 50% of total profit; no consistency once funded.
  • No consistency rule on live accounts.
Payouts4 rules
  • 90/10 profit split; $500 minimum request.
  • Pro and Daily require the balance to stay above max loss + $100; Flex requires 5 days at $100-$250 profit each.
  • Caps per request of $1,000-$3,500 on Pro, Flex and Direct; up to 5 payouts per account before the live review.
  • Trading after a request that drops the balance below the required level can get the request denied.
Account & KYC5 rules
  • Up to 10 evaluation and 5 funded accounts per household (10 in total).
  • KYC at the first payout via the payout provider; business accounts need incorporation and ownership documents.
  • Residents of about 80 countries are excluded, including Turkey, the Philippines, Nigeria, Pakistan, Vietnam and South Africa.
  • Accounts with no $1 net P&L in 30 days are deleted; breached evaluations are deleted after 30 days unless reset.
  • No refunds once an account has been traded; any chargeback leads to a permanent ban.
