E8 Markets rules & hidden risks
The fine print that costs traders accounts
Hidden Risk score
5.2/10
High risk
Average: 5.5
E8's written numbers are clear and some of the cheapest in the market, but the firm can cap a trader's risk at 1% per idea without a numeric trigger, and several payout and drawdown mechanics — E8 Pro's buffer, Signature's tiered max loss — are easy to miss until they apply to you.
Hidden rules to know before you buy
- mediumdiscretion
Risk team can de-risk an account to 1% per trade or call a random interview
If E8's risk team flags a pattern it does not like, it can cap risk to 1% per trade idea or time horizon, demand a longer trading history, or request a short interview at any stage — none of this is standard for every trader, so it is hard to predict in advance.

Hedging across your own accounts is banned, even though copy trading across them is allowed
Opening opposing positions on two accounts you own is a prohibited-strategy violation, while running the identical trade on your own Challenge, Performance and personal accounts is explicitly fine — a distinction that is easy to blur in practice.

More than half your trades under a minute counts as prohibited HFT
There is no outright ban on fast trading, but once over 50% of a trader's trades are held under one minute, the pattern is treated as high-frequency trading and can trigger a review.

A shared or publicly sold EA can get an account terminated
Third-party EAs are allowed, but E8 limits each account to one strategy; if its systems see multiple users running the same EA or signal, every account involved can be terminated, a real risk for popular off-the-shelf or copy-sold EAs.

E8 Pro withholds 50% of every payout as a non-cash buffer
Half of each E8 Pro payout is retained in the account as a buffer rather than paid in cash. The policy is disclosed, but enough traders miss it before their first withdrawal that it shows up repeatedly in reviews describing it as a scam.

Country eligibility can change after you already hold an account
E8 maintains a list of restricted countries for its classic-market products; at least one reviewer describes losing access after their home country was added to the restricted list partway through an existing relationship with the firm.

Trustpilot has hidden E8 Markets' TrustScore
Trustpilot removed a number of reviews it judged fake for a guideline breach and currently displays no TrustScore for E8 Markets; the 4.54 figure used here is our own weighted average of the star distribution Trustpilot still shows.

E8 Signature's max loss tightens on the two largest account sizes
Max loss is 4% on the $25K and $50K E8 Signature accounts but only 3% on the $100K and $150K accounts, a detail that is easy to miss when comparing the price table rather than the rules for each size.

The rulebook
Drawdown & profit targets4 rules
- E8 One uses a dynamic drawdown that trails your highest closed balance and locks once it reaches the starting balance; the standard tier is a 6% max loss, 9% target and 4% daily loss, with looser 8/10/14% and tighter 4% tiers available at the same price.
- E8 Pro uses a static drawdown fixed at the starting balance (8% standard tier, with 6% or 10% alternatives) and a 2.5% daily loss limit, plus a 2% daily profit cap that also counts toward payouts.
- E8 Signature uses an end-of-day trailing drawdown with a flat 6% target; max loss is 4% ($1,000/$2,000) on the $25K/$50K accounts and 3% ($3,000/$4,500) on the $100K/$150K accounts, and a 2% daily loss triggers a same-day pause rather than an instant breach.
- None of the three products has a published minimum trading-day count or a time limit on the Challenge phase.
Prohibited trading & risk limits5 rules
- All-or-nothing trading — risking the entire daily drawdown on one trade — is banned on all products.
- Hedging across two accounts is prohibited even when both belong to the same trader.
- More than 50% of trades held under one minute is treated as prohibited high-frequency trading.
- Third-party and custom EAs are allowed, but accounts found running the same shared strategy as other users can be terminated; limits include 50 lots per ticket (20 on gold), 100 open orders, and 2,000 server requests and positions per day.
- E8's risk team can de-risk a flagged account to 1% per trade idea, require an extended trading history, or request a short interview at any stage; none of this is standard for every trader.
News & timing3 rules
- News trading is unrestricted on E8 Pro and E8 Signature at every stage.
- On E8 One, news trading is open during the Challenge phase but barred from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact releases on the funded Performance account; violations can have profits removed.
- E8 Signature force-closes all open positions at 23:00 server time and does not allow new positions until 00:15 — no overnight or weekend holding on this product.
Payouts4 rules
- E8 Pro pays on a daily cycle once the minimum 1% profit per cycle is met, and withholds 50% of each payout as a non-cash buffer.
- E8 One and E8 Signature use a Payout on Demand model instead of a fixed cycle; Signature additionally requires 5 profitable days of at least 0.3% each between payouts.
- Minimum payout is $100; funds go out via Rise, WorkMarket or Aeropay (US), with no direct crypto payout option.
- Company-reported processing is a median of about 11 hours to approval and 24 hours to funds, with a stated ceiling of up to 5 business days and no weekend processing.
Account, KYC & refunds4 rules
- Identity verification is required before funding; a single user may hold only one profile, and operating multiple profiles risks suspension.
- Accounts are disabled after 60 days of inactivity (no trade placed or closed), with no entitlement to a refund.
- The challenge fee is refunded only if requested within 30 days of purchase and before any trade is placed; it is never refunded on passing or with a first payout, and crypto payments cannot be refunded at all.
- MT5 is not available to traders in the United States; a separate list of restricted countries applies to all classic-market products.
